Music Play Online for every General Vocal Music teacher
Dear Ms. Miller and the rest of the Mount Diablo Music Education Foundation:
I want to thank you all for funding this year’s subscription to Music Play Online for every General Vocal Music teacher at the elementary level. This is the first year we have all had a current, consistent curriculum from which to work in many years. In addition to being a great collection of songs and music activities that are developmentally appropriate and fun, Music Play Online has multiple resources that are designed to be used in varied teaching situations, to include distance learning! I have already taken advantage of several professional development webinars offered through MPO and expect that the children I teach will greatly benefit as I mine the riches of all that MPO holds for them.
Thank you again for your kind provision for me as a teacher and for the students I teach.
With a song in my heart,
Danielle Haffner
General Vocal Music Teacher

Subject: Thank you for MusicPlay subscriptions and Music Teacher Roster
Good afternoon, Joan! I hope you and yours are doing well. Things are going pretty smoothly with elementary music in MDUSD so far. We’re doing well with teaching live lessons on Zoom and providing extra resources for students outside of “live class” time, too. I’m glad it is temporary, for sure, but we are teaming up to share ideas and strategies to make sure we’re doing the best we can with the situation. The music teachers actually meet on Zoom once a week, so we have lots of time to plan and share ideas. I have heard from every elementary music teacher that they really appreciate having access to MusicPlay Online! Your foundation’s grant has been a lifesaver for us. Not only do we now have access to tons of resources for singing, music reading, teaching of music concepts, etc. but it is the first time ever that the district has had a K-6th grade music curriculum resource for all schools! That’s quite a milestone, and we are very grateful to you and your board for such generous support. The teachers are using it, the students are using it, and MusicPlay has helped us teach our music standards in the distance learning format. Thanks so much!
Also, I’m attaching a roster showing all MDUSD music teachers in elementary, middle, and high schools. Kudos to Darrin Michaels for gathering all the info and putting it together in this document. I hope it has all the info you need. It even reflects a couple of recent hires, but we’ll let you know if changes happen through the school year.
Thanks for everything, Joan! You and your foundation are making a huge difference for our students!
Sincerely,
Bonnie
