MaryAnnette joined the Mount Diablo Unified School District in 1976 where she taught instrumental music in the elementary and middle schools over the span of 36 years. In Loving Memory of MaryAnnette Venti

After a long and brave battle with cancer, MaryAnnette Venti passed away peacefully on March 10, 2020. MaryAnnette, born in Concord, remained in Contra Costa County her entire life. She studied Music at Cal State Hayward and graduated with a degree in Music Education. MaryAnnette joined the Mount Diablo Unified School District in 1976 where she taught instrumental music in the elementary and middle schools over the span of 36 years. During that time she touched the lives of countless aspiring young musicians, and propelled many careers as well as life-long friendships.

MaryAnnette was also musically active in the community having performed as a vocalist with Diablo Valley Chorus, played the clarinet for Contra Costa Musical Theater, Diablo Light Opera Company and conducted the orchestra for the Brentwood Community Theater. Though music was her true passion, MaryAnnette had a gift for connecting to those around her with her genuine humor and infectious laughter. She became active in Ladies Golf Tournaments throughout the East Bay and enjoyed many hours on the links during her retirement, accomplishing a “Hole in One.” MaryAnnette has left a legacy of music, laughter and love.

She is predeceased by her father, Joseph, mother, Anna, brother, Samuel; she is survived by her brother Joseph, and niece Shileah. MaryAnnette is pictured below with her cousin Anthony Ventimiglio.
